Versatile Béchamel sauce that promises to elevate a seemingly 'meh' dish, into amazing. Use to pour over spiraled veggies, roasted or steamed veg, hot chip dip or dollop on top of fish, chicken or steak. This sauce's only restriction is your creativity.
Craving a thinner cheese sauce that's PERFECT for Paleo Mac & Cheese? Simply add 40g water after adding cheese, increasing as needed (lentil noodles will require more, but cauliflower no so much 😉)
Follow these simple and easy steps to get a quick sauce for dinner!
Yields: 2 servings
- Start with 3T Butter and 2-3 Garlic cloves, minced
- Simmer over medium heat to release garlic's amazing scent that fills your kitchen with yumminess!
- Add 3T Almond Flour, blanched to make a rue, stir until creamy, bubbly and gets a suntan
- Drop to low/med. heat before adding 5T SCD Yogurt and stir to combine
- Add 20g Gouda
- Add 13g Parmesan Cheese, finely grated, stir till melted on low heat
- Pinch of nutmeg
- Finish with 3 drops of Tabasco Sauce
- And finally, add 3 twists of sea salt and fresh pepper to taste and a pinch of fresh lemon zest to cut the richness
Done in less than 5 minutes! And devoured in less than 15, complimented with good conversation too!
